Described by OperaWorld Magazine as “the female voice of the Spanish guitar,” Andrea González Caballero is one of the most prominent Female Classical Guitarist of her generation. Her musical talent has earned her multiple top prizes in international competitions, including First Prize at the XIII Alhambra International Guitar Competition in Valencia and the XL International Competition F. Sor in Rome.
Her artistry has received significant recognition from critics. BBC Music Magazine named Andrea as one of “today’s young stars of the classical guitar.” She has performed at renowned venues and prestigious festivals around the world. For example, she has graced the stage at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the National Auditorium in Madrid, the Tony Bennett Concert Hall in New York City, and San Francisco Performances. In addition, her performance history includes collaborations with major orchestras. These include the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Cottbus Staatstheater Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra of Moldova, and the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen in Germany.

Her most recent release, Reencuentros, received critical acclaim and enthusiastic responses from audiences. As a result, her international tour included numerous sold-out performances. Andrea is celebrated for her strong roots in the Spanish guitar tradition and her distinctive, emotionally charged interpretations. Because of this, she has earned a place among the top classical guitarists of her generation. The success of Reencuentros led her to major venues across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Australia. In addition, her 2017 Naxos CD premiered new guitar compositions alongside works by composers such as B. Britten, Albéniz, and Tárrega. The album was widely praised, with Melómano Magazine calling it “a delicate, elegant and majestic musical word” and awarding it the Golden Melómano distinction.
Andrea received support from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), AIE (Society of Performing Artists of Spain), and the Provincial Council of Guipuzcoa. Thanks to this, she studied at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she graduated with honors.
In addition, she earned a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
There, she was awarded the James Winship Lewis Memorial Prize.
Later, she completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami.
Beyond her solo career, Andrea actively promotes collaboration and innovation in classical music. In 2020, she co-founded IDENTIDADE, a groundbreaking initiative that brings together female artists from different disciplines.
As a result, the project premiered a flute and guitar album featuring works by award-winning composers: Clarice Assad, Gabriela Ortiz, Elisenda Fábregas, and Johanny Navarro.
In addition to her work with IDENTIDADE, Andrea contributed to the soundtrack of the American film No Man’s Land (2021). She co-composed and performed parts of the score. She also released EUSKARAZ, a collaborative recording with Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning composer and producer Carlos Fernando López.
